By following our safety and care instructions you can feel confident around water while keeping your garment in its best condition. If there are any issues with your garment, please email us to help advise you on your next steps.
Care for your Garment
Care after use
Rinse your garment with fresh water, removing chlorine, salt, sand and any other residue.
After rinsing, place your garment in a shaded area avoiding direct sunlight. Continuous UV exposure will lead to fading and potential degrading of material. Wait for the garment to completely airdry before storing to prevent from mould damage.
Storage
Store your garment away from sunlight in a cool, dry place to avoid material from degrading.
Lay garment on a flat surface, minimising folding. Avoid heavy objects leaning on or laying on top of your garment as this will affect the structural integrity of the material.
Avoid
Avoid washing your garment in washing machine as this can accelerate the effect of chlorine on the material. Do not use abrasive scrubber to clean your garment as this may fray and distress the material. Avoid using harsh chemicals on your garment. If you need, spot treat with a mild soap and water solution with a soft cloth can be used.
Keep Safe
WARNING WILL NOT PROTECT AGAINT DROWNING USE ONLY UNDER CONSTANT SUPERVISION NOT FOR USE IN BOATING.
Buckles and Zips
Our garments come with zips and/or buckles. Always ensure these are secured correctly before wearing in the water. Test buckles and zips before use, to ensure they are functioning properly.
Wear and Tear
Regularly check your garment for any signs of wear and tear. Tears, perforations or fraying may impact the overall integrity of your garment.
Inspect all areas of your garment, seams in particular, or where your garment is buckled or zips.
Size and Fit
Refer to our size guide when deciding on the correct fit for your child. Consider age, weight and garment measurements when choosing a size. Your garment should not be loose and should not rise above shoulders.
Replace
Continue to monitor the integrity of your garment and replace if there are any visible signs of damage.
We recommend all garments be replaced after 12 months due to exposure to chlorine and sun.
As your child outgrows their garment, replace with the correct size.
Always Supervise
Even with floaties on, children should never be left unattended in or near water. Active adult supervision is crucial to ensuring their safety.
